Jennifer
Practice ManagerJennifer joined Spoon River Animal Clinic in 2022. She and her husband, Jay have two adult children along with two Shih Tzu dogs, Ellie and Snoop. Jennifer enjoyed spending many hours on her grandparents’ farm growing up. She now is fortunate enough that she and her husband have built a home on the same property. Jennifer has a love for animals and isn’t afraid to jump in and help wherever is needed within the clinic. She enjoys spending time with her family, pets and traveling.
Mary
ReceptionistWorking in the vet field for over 20 years, Mary has formed close relationships with fellow staff and clients at Spoon River Animal Clinic. Mary started her vet career as a pet bather and brusher. If she could describe herself in one word, it would be compassionate. Mary resides in Canton with one dog, Thor. Fun fact about Mary is she loves to act silly and dance with her grandkids. Mary enjoys crocheting and spending time with family.
Heidi
ReceptionistHeidi began her career at Spoon River Animal Clinic just after her high school graduation in 1994. She is one of the first faces you will see when you walk in the door. Heidi greets and assists clients with appointments, transactions and paperwork. She is a true animal lover at heart. Heidi and her husband, Jason have a hobby farm with a variety of animals. Heidi has 3 adult children, the late Zoe, Ethan and Ean. She has 2 grandkids, Dylan (Bean) and Jensen. Heidi’s hobbies are adopting senior retrievers, helping coach/fundraise for local special Olympics basketball/track teams, traveling and watching live music.
Lindsey
ReceptionistLindsey joined Spoon River Animal Clinic family in 2022 as a part-time receptionist. She also works full-time at a local vision center. She has a care and compassion for animals that started at a very young age. She has two dogs, Cinnamon who she inherited and Elenora. She also has two cats, Jersey and Annika. In her spare time, she enjoys studying, reading, canning, and crocheting.
Laura
Veterinary AssistantLaura is a devoted Veterinary Assistant that has been doing what she loves for 29 years. She prides herself on helping ill animals of all breeds regain health and happiness. Laura has one black lab, named Hunter and black and white cat named Nuisance. Laura enjoys the outdoors.
Annetta
Veterinary AssistantAnnetta is a Veterinary Assistant with over 15 years of experience. She feels rewarded when she cares for animals and the unpredictability of working at Spoon River Animal Clinic keeps her on her toes and constantly learning. Outside of the clinic, she has fun listening to music, camping and spending time with her husband and son. Annetta enjoys listening to her son’s band, Dead Man’s Dog.
Cappi
Veterinary Assistant & ReceptionistCappi is a Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist at Spoon River Animal Clinic. She first started working as a veterinary technician in 1989. She currently resides in London Mills with her fiancé Jeff and their two pitbulls, Hank and Larry, along with cat, Ronald. Cappi enjoys gardening and working out in her spare time.
Paige
Veterinary AssistantPaige joined the Spoon River Animal Clinic family in 2022 as a full-time kennel and tech assistant. Paige has always had a soft spot for animals. She has a black lab named Ruck, whom she loves dearly. She also has two trouble-making cats names Sunshine and Daniel. In her spare time, she enjoys attending concerts, camping, and spending time with family and pets.
Savanna
Veterinary Assistant & ReceptionistSavanna grew up with a passion for animals. She is very excited to become a member of Spoon River Animal Clinic and to have the opportunity to care for all types of patients. Savanna and her boyfriend, Dalton, have a daughter named Prairie. Savanna enjoys being outdoors and caring for her hobby farm in her free time. She has a horse, donkey, several goats, 4 dogs, and a cat.
Nick
Veterinary Assistant & ReceptionistNick is a full time veterinary assistant employee at Spoon River Animal Clinic. He is currently finishing his Master degree in coaching athletics at Greenville University. Nick as one dog named Maggie. He is a men’s assistant baseball coach at Spoon River College. He found his passion for animals growing up helping his step mom at a vet clinic that she works at.
Jenny
Veterinary AssistantJenny is a certified vet assistant that joined the SRAC team March 2025. She is currently enrolled in an online vet tech program at Dallas College, and hopes to finish her degree Fall 2026. Jenny has a passion for animals and has had animal related jobs since 2015. She lives in Cuba with her 2 dogs, Theo and Dolly, and 4 cats, Clementine, Tinsy, Myra, and Carter. In her free time she volunteers and fosters cats with the Humane Society of Fulton County.
Kayla
Veterinary AssistantKayla joined Spoon River Animal Clinic team in 2025, bringing with her a lifelong passion for animals. From the moment she could walk, she’s been drawn to animals big and small and now she’s thrilled to turn that passion into a career. At home, Kayla shares her life with four dogs named Buddy, Cooper, Molly and Romeo as well as a pet cow named AL. In Kayla’s free time she is an active volunteer, dog coordinator, and board member at the Humane Society of Fulton County where she dedicates majority of her time helping animals in need. Kayla is excited to grow with the Spoon River team and looks forward to caring for the pets and families in her community.
Haley
Veterinary AssistantHaley has always had a love for animals of all kinds. Growing up on a ranch in Indiana, she spent her days caring for livestock and rodeoing with her family. Which sparked her lifelong passion for animal care. Now living in Canton, Illinois, with her boyfriend Evan, 2 dogs, and 2 horses, Haley is excited to continue her journey as a Veterinary Assistant at Spoon River Animal Clinic. She enjoys helping every patient fell their best.
Makenna
Veterinary Assistant and Canine GroomerI’m a certified veterinary assistant who graduated from Black Hawk College East in 2025, and I’m also a certified groomer through the Animal Behavior College Grooming Program. I have 3 years of grooming experience and am so excited to continue growing in this field.
I’m very passionate about animal care and love helping pets feel comfortable, safe, and confident through grooming. I hope to make a difference in as many animals’ lives as possible while helping them feel their best!
I have two dogs named Luna and Duke. In my free time, I love being outdoors, golfing, volunteering at the Humane Society, traveling to new places, and staying active! I can’t wait to meet you and your pets!
Kevin
Maintenance ForemanKevin works full-time at a local grocery store as their Meat Department Manager. Kevin is also a freelance outdoor writer and wildlife photographer. Kevin and his wife, Laurie, have two sons, Cody and Seth. They also have one dog, Cali and one cat, Montana.
